A magyar politikai konzervativizmus kezdetei

A magyar konzervatív politikai gondolkodás kezdetei a 18. század legvégére nyúlnak vissza, de a 19. század legelején e gondolkodásból vajmi kevés látszott. Egy elnyújtott pillantás a 19. század első évtizedeire azonban megmutatja, hogy sporadikusan, csírákban és előzményekben e vonzó gondolatkör első kezdeményei mégiscsak megjelentek a korszak irodalmában. Ezeket egybeolvasva levonható az a következtetés, hogy a 19. század első harmadát minden nehézség ellenére tekinthetjük a későbbi politikai, majd a még későbbi teoretikus konzervativizmus megjelenését előkészítő, bevezető korszaknak, így a konzervatív hagyomány hazánkban gazdagabbnak tekinthető, mint korábban gondolhattuk volna.

The beginnings of Hungarian conservative political thinking go back to the very end of the 18th century, but at the very beginning of the 19th century, little of this thinking was visible. However, a prolonged look at the first decades of the 19th century shows that sporadically, in germs and antecedents, the first initiatives of this circle of thought still appeared in the literature of the period. Reading them together, we can draw the conclusion that, despite all the difficulties, the first third of the 19th century can be considered the introductory era that prepared the appearance of later political and even later theoretical conservatism. So, the conservative tradition in Hungary can be considered richer than we thought before.
