Synopsis

The digital revolution of the 21st century and the rapid changes in our natural and social environment have focused attention on the issues of digitalisation, sustainability and related legal enforcement options.. The tools of law enforcement must also adapt to the phenomenon of digitalisation and sustainability, as this is the only way to ensure non-discriminatory and equal access to law and fundamental rights, as well as effective enforcement of private and public law claims. In particular, it is important to have adequate information and knowledge of our environmental rights, to make well-informed decisions in online spaces and be conscious users and consumers when entering into transactions. A holistic approach to legal interpretation is also needed by law practitioners to ensure equal access to justice. A high level of consumer and data protection can also be linked to increasing trust in online markets and services, based on the experiences to date in applying the law.

Keywords: sustainability, digitalisation, digital single market, data protection, enforcement of public and private interests
