Digitális lábnyom és az online platformok az EU-ban
Synopsis
This study focuses on digital transition, online platforms, active and passive digital footprint, taking into account the requirements of green transition and sustainability. The author’s main objective is to examine the phenomenon and the significance of the digital footprint, to define the concept of the institution and to determine its place in the legal system. With the structural changes in the economy and society, as well as changes in consumer habits and the rise of electronic means of communication and online platforms, the question of where the line is drawn between the requirement of transparency in users’ comments and the justification for content restriction (see the ‘shadow banning’ case) is an important issue. The research will also lead to a de lege ferenda proposal to introduce the concept of digital footprint into our legal system.
Keywords: active and passive electronic footprint, online activity, social media, sustainability, internet intermediary services
