Investigation Of the Basic Events and Prevention Possibilities of Serious Accidents Caused by Auxiliary Structures in the Construction Industry
Synopsis
The construction industry is one of the most dangerous industries worldwide, with workers at risk of serious accidents every day. This sector is particularly prone to workplace accidents due to different work processes and hazardous environments. One of the most common cases of construction accidents is of structural accidents and major fires in the area of temporary structures. These include, among other things, the collapse of façades and load-bearing scaffolding, as well as the formwork systems used in concrete structures. To avoid accidents during the construction and use of temporary structures under load, as well as accidents during their demolition, we can prepare a documentable prevention plan, which requires a comprehensive investigation that includes the exploration of the causes of possible accidents. The first steps of this are the description of the technical design of the structures, the analysis of their application techniques, and the examination of the most common construction and demolition errors and human errors. The aim of the study is to demonstrate and prove by studies that a new methodology can be developed to avoid these serious, even catastrophic accidents.
