Globalization processes and the new types of socio-economic situations that they bring with them are permeating almost every aspect of our lives. In this context, the explosion of technical and technological progress, in particular the rise of artificial intelligence, information and communication tools and the digital environment, is fundamentally reshaping our everyday lives; the digital transition has become a dominant feature of virtually every aspect of life. The success of this transformation is, however, closely linked to the application of the principles of sustainability, both in practical applications and in legal regulation, which is dynamically adapted to socio-economic needs. This study will focus on the multifaceted phenomenon of the digital transition, with a particular focus on the role of online platforms. A key research question is how to prepare society (the legislation and law enforcement), both nationally and internationally, for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.
